Xiaomi wants to reach new heights in smartphone unveiling with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra by next year. In 2024, we have seen how the 15 and 15 Pro models fared. Now, the upcoming model is what keeps us waiting in this moment.

Certified in China under model number 25019PNF3C, the device expected to be launched is considered to be at the limit of what a flagship might do.

Satellite Connectivity: A First for Xiaomi's Flagships

One of the features that recent certifications have confirmed is satellite connectivity, a technology intended to improve communication in places where there is little or no cellular coverage. However, there's a catch, according to GSM Arena—this feature may only be available in China since it uses the Tiantong satellite network, which is operated by China Telecom.

The Tiantong system only provides partial coverage, primarily targeting China and its adjacent areas, such as parts of the Indian and Pacific oceans.

While the global market may lose out on this revolutionary offering, the satellite capabilities mark a declaration of intent by Xiaomi to remain in the lead in the flagship war, competing with other tech titans that are also integrating similar technologies.

90W Wired Charging Will Be a Continuing Legacy

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature 90W wired charging, just like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This ultra-fast charging technology allows users to power up their devices quickly, reducing downtime and making it more convenient.

Wireless charging improvements are not yet mentioned, but Xiaomi has a history of innovation, so further enhancements in the Ultra model could complement its wired charging capabilities soon.

When Will Xiaomi 15 Ultra Hit Shelves

Rumors say the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be launched in the first quarter of 2025, with an official announcement possibly done at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The 2024 MWC event, which is scheduled from March 3 to March 6, maybe the perfect stage for Xiaomi to unveil its all-out flagship. This timing would coincide with the tradition of the brand releasing significant versions at high-profile tech events.

The official specs are not yet released; however, here's what the tech community is anticipating:

  • Advanced camera technology: A play on Xiaomi's imaging expertise, this can be expected to feature better sensors and optics for professional-grade photography.
  • Top-of-the-line processors: It is likely to be powered by the latest Snapdragon chip for maximum speed and efficiency.
  • Premium display: A high-resolution AMOLED panel with adaptive refresh rates for stunning visuals.
  • Durable design: Expected improvements in build quality and IP ratings for better durability.

Elsewhere, 91Mobiles reported that Digital Chat Station, a known Weibo leaker said that Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have 5G-enhanced mobile broadband technology.

Aside from the previous rumors, the tipster also hinted that it will feature an increased battery capacity. This could mean that its capacity will be higher than 5,300mAh which we previously saw on Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

For reference, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a 6,100mAh battery. From here, we anticipate it to have over 6,200mAh. We could be wrong, but it might be near this estimate.
