It's already a decade since Destiny premiered, enthralling its first wave of players with an extravagantly large universe and its welcoming game. But whatever has been going on in Bungie lately, the future is uncertain. That's why players are something far from excited in their anticipation over a new Destiny product. In fact, that new Destiny we shall be talking about is a mobile game called Destiny: Rising, under the shoulder of NetEase Games as well as the developer itself.

What is Destiny: Rising?

NetEase has confirmed that Destiny: Rising, a mobile game that was once leaked, is now coming to smartphones. However, some people are still confused with it. Destiny Rising/YouTube

The independent game developer NetEase Games has finally unveiled Destiny: Rising, which is a totally free-to-play science fiction RPG shooter developed in an alternative timeline of Destiny.

Since it is coming at a point in time after the Dark Age, this brings new lore, characters, and experiences to established and new fans of the franchise. Although it's not Destiny 3, it does intend to bring something new to the Destiny universe, per Android Authority.

Game Features and Mechanics

Destiny: Rising will come out featuring playable hero characters who will sport their particular special abilities above all, and will be featured in a shared world environment.

Besides this, both PvE and PvP modes will also be there in the game besides all the well-known locations and characters from the original Destiny series.

Game modes also include single-player, co-op, and competitive multiplayer. In terms of the game mechanics, Destiny: Rising players will be able to switch between touch controls or a controller-which flexibly allows switching between first-person and third-person point of view.

A Mobile Game with Big Ambitions

Destiny: Rising takes the franchise to a whole new level by making the game accessible to mobile gamers with its versions available on both Android and iOS. NetEase has started signing up for the limited-access alpha test beginning Nov. 1. Interested participants will be required to give details about their mobile devices since the game is being set up for easy rollout across different platforms.

Destiny: Rising Misconceptions

According to Forbes, there are some misconceptions for some players. First, the new Destiny mobile game has nothing to do with Sony. Second, it's part of the Destiny universe at first, but its components are different in the mobile version.

Additionally, the project is a project of NetEase. Bungie barely contributed to this game. What's more, expect it to have microtransactions just like other mobile games.

On top of that, this is a Destiny title designed for mobile gaming and not the other way around. The thing is Destiny: Rising is full of expectations from gamers. It might not be perfect, but it's enough to cater to the needs of the mobile gaming community.
