Sprint has announced that Samsung Galaxy Nexus is on its way to its network. The Nexus innovation will join Sprint's network from April 22. One of the objectives of the move is to enable the leveraging of the phone's functionalities on Sprint's nascent 4G LTE network. The major difference between the functionalities of the phone and that of the Verizon version is that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus running on Sprint's network will fully support Google Wallet.
The flagship Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich released by Verizon was the first of this model. Verizon has been fighting with Google in the background over the prospects of enabling the phone to incorporate its NFC technology for the Google Wallet feature. After a long battle, Verizon finally determined that it would not support the feature thwarting Galaxy Nexus' potential of becoming the innovative gem of Google's mobile prowess.
4G coverage in the Sprint network is still limited to a few cities announced by the company recently. Sprint is determined to complete its expansion milestones by the end of 2013. In a statement made by Sprint , the Galaxy Nexus comes with a price tag of $199.99 for a two year contract, which is $100 less than the Verizon price. The company has already opened pre-orders for the phone right away, while the device will officially join Sprint's network on April 22.
The phone comes with a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display and operates on a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor. Upon getting NFC integration for the Google Wallet service, the phone comes with a more intact integration with Google Voice, which enables users to use their main phone number as a Google voice number.
The development follows the release of the Galaxy Nexus that hit the mobile retailers' shelves in December last year through Verizon wireless for a $299.99 price tag. The Verizon version enjoyed the limelight as one of the best selling smartphones in the market for that season.
Hence, the Galaxy Nexus with Google Wallet is a potential charts buster.
