The latest rumors about the upcoming iMac 2016 hinted that it might sport an enhanced AMD processor along with its graphics processor. Apple is reportedly planning to include many new features in their desktops like VR compatibility, True Tone display, and much more.

Apple World reported that the tech company might ditch the Intel chipsets in order to include the latest AMD's Zen processor along with their Polaris graphics card. Reports claimed that the Zen processor consists of eight cores and 16 threads, which will provide a boosted performance.

The Polaris graphics card 10 and 11 are expected to provide an amazing VR experience to users while playing high-resolution games.

"What you'll see us do is completely different with Polaris 10 and 11," said Raja Koduri, who is Radeon Technologies Group Chief Architect, reported Mac World. "We are really focusing on trying to bring FinFET technology with its amazing performance per watt to as many segments as possible. As many ranges of performance as possible, you'll be pleased with what we're going to do with this thing and you'll be surprised."

Earlier, there were rumors that the new iMac 2016 will consist of the Intel's Kaby Lake processor. However, certain reports suggested that as the company will not be able to produce the chipsets in bulk on time, Apple might go with the AMD processors. However, there is no official confirmation as of now.

Furthermore, the iMac 2016 is expected to consist of similar design like that of its predecessor with flash drive option. As far as the display specs are concerned, the iMac 2016 is rumored to sport the True Tone display, which will automatically adjust the white balance and thus provide the users with more natural watching experience.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the iMac 2016 is expected to be launched in October 2016. However, Apple has provided no confirmation on the same yet. In terms of price, the upcoming Apple desktop might be priced higher because of the new AMD Zen processor.
