The Redmond-based technology giant Microsoft teased that the recently launched Xbox One S console was a limited-edition product. Reports claimed that the company has no plans to replenish the stocks of the console as they want to focus more on the new gaming systems like Xbox Two and Project Scorpio.
Trusted Reviews reported that even though the technology giant has been overwhelmed with the response for the Xbox One S console, they will not manufacture more products in the future.
"The 2TB Xbox One S was released as a special launch edition in limited quantities only," stated Microsoft in a statement. "We're thrilled at the amount of interest we've received and we are always looking for opportunities to offer choice and fantastic value to our fans. Please check your local retailer to determine whether the 2TB Xbox One S is still available in your market."
Furthermore, there are reports are that the Xbox One S special edition console has been completely sold out in the UK and is available at few retailers globally. However, the company shared that it will soon reveal further details on the other Xbox One S bundles and its variants in the coming few weeks.
Meanwhile, the Xbox One S console is reported to consist of many significant changes than the original Xbox One like the sleeker design and 4K support. Reports also claimed that the console sports an IR blaster on the front, which helps the gamers to turn on other devices, such as TV or amplifier.
Moreover, the new console is stated to be powered by an octa-core AMD chipset clocked at 1.75GHz with 8 GB RAM. Also, the GPU frequency has been increased from 853 MHz to 914 MHz, which provides the gamers with great performance while playing the HDR games.
Additionally, Pocket Lint reported that the Xbox One S console was expected to be launched in three variants of 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB of storage. However, only the 2 TB variant was launched on August 2. There is still no update on the release date of the other two console variants.
