Leather chairs with built-in speakers quickly became wildly popular with gamers, creating a cool gaming décor with awesome functionality and comfort. Now, gamers are in for an even bigger treat: the Nintendo Controller Coffee Table. And yes, the luxurious gaming furniture is as cool as it sounds.
The full-size coffee-table looks exactly like an authentic old-school Nintendo NES controller, and it is fully functional as well. The 42-inch long masterpiece is fully wired to actually function as a real controller, not just look like one. The Nintendo Controller Coffee Table comes with a retractable cable that plugs into a NES, allowing users to play games such as Super Mario Bros or other popular games. Of course, in order to play one would have to stretch out their arms across the table, but the innovative experience alone should make it worth a sore muscle. The furniture also comes with a glass on top, designed to protect the precious gaming controls should you decide to take a break from games and use it simply as a coffee table.
"This table is fully functional as a Nintendo NES controller and can be used to play games with the glass removed," said Charles Lushear, the creator of the Nintendo Controller Coffee Table. "The cord is retractable from underneath." The masterpiece is made from mahogany, maple, and walnut, with "dovetail joinery and mid-century modern legs," added Lushear.
According to the Etsy listing, Lushear is working on four versions of the coffee table, in order to meet different budgets. Versions include functional and non-functional, or composite materials vs. premium hardwoods. This massive and amazing NES controller costs $3,500 on Etsy, and the price does not include shipping. If you're interested in this masterpiece and live on the west coast, Lushear is located in Venice, California, and prefers local pickups. A video is currently in the making to show the table in action, but until it's ready fans can at least see the table in full-size, on the Etsy page.
