As "Outlander" season 3 is set to premiere earlier than expected, and the latest spoilers have revealed that the production is now looking for the actors who will portray the role of Young Ian and Lord John Grey.
It can be noted that the new characters will finally be introduced in the upcoming episodes, after the younger version of Lord John Grey (Oscar Kennedy) appeared in an episode called "Je Suis Prest" in the second season.
How will these new addition to the show's cast bring more life to story?
Based on the "Outlander" season 3 spoilers from Parent Herald, it was revealed that the casting call for Young Ian and Lord John Grey was announced by executive producer Maril Davis on Twitter.
"Can you tell fans if you have started casting for the new roles. i.e. LJG, young Ian," a fan named Stephanie Bryant asked Davis on social media on Monday, to which she responded saying, "we've started casting, yes."
With the entry of Young Ian, who exudes "independent spirit and curious mind," the online publication noted that he "will set life-changing events into motion for Claire and Jamie."
Meanwhile, Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, hinted in his Twitter post that he has returned to the set and already filming for "Outlander" season 3.
"Indeed. Back in Outlander world and gearing up for a terrific season! You?" he tweeted on Tuesday.
When one fan wrote that she is so excited to the older Sam, the actor even joked as he corrected her by saying, "@AprilBettiePage @WilliamShatner older Jamie (kiss emoticon)."
Early this week, Starz chief executive officer Chris Albrecht shared during a press conference that fans will continue to see the TV drama for quite a while, Vulture reported.
"We've committed at least through book four," the CEO said. "As soon as I get to read books five and six, we will get to talk about that."
