Amid several reports and rumors claiming that Charlie Hunnam is no longer returning for "Pacific Rim 2," a new update seemed to have given some hope to his fans.
Is he finally coming back?
Based on the latest update, there is a possibility that the 36-year-old actor, who starred in the original "Pacific Rim" movie in 2013, might just be back to reprise his role. However, it was noted that his return may come with a limitation.
According to MTV, Charlie Hunnam's interview with them has suggested that he will still appear in "Pacific Rim 2."
"There was definitely an incarnation of this sequel that involved me, but there was a changing of ownership, of the studio itself, Legendary," the former "Sons of Anarchy" star shared, adding that, "and I think that because they partnered up with a Chinese company - and the film was so successful there - there was a real agenda to get that film into production as soon as possible."
"And I was already booked up for a significant period of the time they were going to need," he continued.
In the meantime, Movie News Guide hinted that Charlie Hunnam is not set to reprise his role in the sequel.
The actor reportedly explained why it could be impossible for him to still be part of the upcoming movie.
According to him, his schedule may not really permit him to film, as he talked about how politics in the filmmaking industry can impede "art and creativity."
It was noted, though, that even if he will no longer be part of it, the production has been working hard to produce an "authentic" sequel to the original "Pacific Rim" which over $400 million three years ago.
Keep posted for more "Pacific Rim 2" updates, particularly those that involve Charlie Hunnam.
