German magazine PC Action comes with big news: the cult-hit console game Dark Souls will be available for PC this August. The PC version will include some "new bosses," as well as a few tweaks, such as a touch-up in the graphics department.

According to the magazine, the PC adaptation will be called Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and will offer all the same content from the console versions, with the addition of new bosses.

Not so long ago, the Dark Souls PC release was only a challenge, a potential idea that could become reality if it had enough supporters. "There [are] always possibilities to have games adapted on PC and the good news is that Dark Souls is not a 100% typical Console game so the adaptation is possible. Now to make things happen, let's say the demand has to be properly done. Someone to make a successful petition?" said Namco Bandai administrator Tony Shoupinou, aiming to incite gamers.

At the beginning of the year, an impressive number of more than 92,000 PC gamers showed interest in a PC adaptation of the game. "Damn you are amazing! I honestly wasn't expecting such massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it exploded all around the world," responded Shoupinou. "If you ever wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it. The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this. I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant person at Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort."

Challenge Accepted

With such a serious fan-base eager to see the cult-hit Dark Souls on PC, the adaptation now seems to become reality, and is just a few months away. Dark Souls is one of the most serious action-RPG (Role Playing Game) titles released in quite some time, and its commercial success seems to encourage new content and new platforms.

For now, there is little else known about the PC version of Dark Souls. Namco Bandai has not officially confirmed it, and the recent teaser on its Facebook page, hinting at some Dark Souls-related announcement, is rather ambiguous. The August PC release could well be the intended reveal. Gamers, brace yourselves! Dark Souls is finally coming to PC!
