Amidst rumors that Sony Xperia Z6 will not see the light of day, few reports claimed that the device will be launched next year with exceptional specs and features.

NSEA Voice reported that the Sony Xperia Z6 will sport a unique design and compatibility to the virtual reality platforms. It is stated that the smartphone will serve as a controller to the VR headsets of PlayStation gaming consoles.

Even though there are reports that Sony will release its new Xperia Z6 model with enhanced features, few reports hinted that the company might have canceled the device in order to launch the X model.

Even the Senior Product Marketing Manager at Sony Mobile Jun Makino stated that they have cancelled the Z series devices. "I can't comment on the future, but we will not be releasing a Z6," shared Makino, as reported by GMS Arena "Moreover, Sony is turning its focus to the next stage, with the Xperia X series."

On the other hand the Xperia Z6 model is rumored to be launched with other devices like LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7. However, a no-show this year has teased that the company has completely dropped the idea of Xperia Z6 release.

The latest reports claimed that the Japan-based company will try to brush-off the bad impression created by the heavily priced Sony Xperia X, which does not even have any unique software functionalities. By infusing many new features into Sony Xperia Z6, the company is expected to be planning to take on its competitors in the smartphone market.

Amidst all the speculations, the Sony Xperia Z6 might be released in 2017.
