Once you've gotten the hang of the "Pokemon GO" basics, we then move to the interesting part: making sure you get all the cool Pokemon. That means, of course, the Rare and Epic Pokemon. Here's how to do it.
What Are Rare Pokemon?
As Writerparty has pointed out, there is no official rare Pokemon list in "Pokemon GO" yet. When we mean rare, we are referring to Pokemon that is not commonly found in your region, such as Pidgey and Zubat.
With that said, "Pokemon GO" contains all 151 original Pokemon from the first games, according to Vox. You can even catch a Ditto someday, according to this source code.
Higher Trainer Level = Rare Pokemon
Basically, the more experienced trainer you are, the better Pokemon you'll attract. Same theory goes for "Pokemon GO." Of course, along with the rarity level, the difficulty level will also increase, and you will be using a lot of Pokeballs and items to catch new Pokemon.
However, if you want rare Pokemon at lower levels, try hatching a 10km egg. It takes a ton of work and a lot of steps to hatch one, but it is worth it, giving you access to rare Pokemon. A great excuse to get that much-needed exercise in, right?
Go To Areas With More Pokestops And More People
According to Writerparty, the more crowded the place is, the better chance you'd get a Pokemon you don't have yet. It is advisable to go to areas with Lure Modules activated (or you can just throw in one yourself).
Trading Pokemon
Last, and the most obvious one, is to trade your Pokemon with friends. Since people will be catching different types of Pokemon, there will be a huge chance that someone else has that Pokemon you're missing.
Trading is not available in "Pokemon GO" yet, but Niantic Labs will be rolling out the feature in a future update, according to an interview with Business Insider.
Does your friend have a Pokemon that you don't have yet? Then trade that in with one of your Pokemon so both of you can expand your Pokedex.
