The "Pokemon GO" fever shows no signs of dying down since its initial release. Pokemon masters-in-training are taking the world by storm. However, it is not a true-blue Pokemon game without its popular electric yellow mouse, Pikachu.
"Pokemon GO" allows trainers to choose between three starter Pokemon, which is keeping up with the Pokemon tradition. In this game, players can choose between Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.
Ash Ketchum started out with Pikachu as his first Pokemon, however, and has followed him all throughout his journey to become a Pokemon Master. For those who want to follow in Ash's footsteps, here is how to do it, as discovered by Polygon.
At the beginning of the game, when Professor Willow asks you to choose a starter, the three Pokemon will appear on your map. Instead of clicking one of them, just walk away. Whenever you move to a different place, the three Pokemon will respawn in front of you.
Do this four times, and the next time they respawn, Pikachu will be there, allowing you to choose it as a starting Pokemon.
This is a homage to the original Game Boy title "Pokemon Yellow," where the lovable yellow critter appeared as the fourth starter Pokemon.
It sounds easy at first, but there will be a ton of frustration involved in discovering this easter egg hidden by Niantic Labs.
Polygon staff spent over 40 minutes trying to get the Pikachu to respawn with the three initial Pokemon, and the iffy camera angle does not make it any easier either.
Too bad this news came about after the "Pokemon GO" launch date, but this is good news for people who are late to the "Pokemon GO" party.
Now go get that Pikachu and start your journey to become a Pokemon Master! Don't forget to download the app officially on the Google Play Store and Apple Store only. More of that on another post.
