Picking Up Where Ellie and Joel Left Off

We are not going to spoil what actually happened at the end of "The Last of Us," but fans of the game would agree that it is one of the most memorable endings in video game history.

Some speculate that this is the end of the line for Joel and Ellie, and new characters are to be introduced soon. However, most of the fans are adamant that the story must continue.

According to Game Rant, the voice of Joel, Troy Baker, said that he does not know anything about "The Last Of Us 2," which may mean that Joel's character is not returning for the sequel. On the other hand, this may just mean that the voice actor just does not want to give anything away at this point.

Play More As Ellie

Playing as Joel in the main game is quite enjoyable, but if Naughty Dog does plan on a sequel, then it would make more sense to play more as Ellie instead. Not to completely write Joel out of the action, but to see more action with Ellie as a main playable character.

The Story 20 Years Prior to "The Last of Us"

Some people want to find out what happened to Joel 20 years prior to the events in "The Last of Us." Fans want to know what happened after the death of Joel's daughter, and what happened to Ellie's mother.

New Characters

As mentioned on the first part of this article, some people want to see new characters in "The Last of Us 2." Veering away from the Joel-Ellie plot of the first game, some people think that there are more stories out there that needs to be told, and it's not necessarily just revolving around the first story.

A Release Date

Of course, as much as we want to speculate all day, Naughty Dog would stil need to confirm when the game will actually be released. Rumors state that "The Last Of Us 2" is slated for a 2018 release, judging from its absence at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

But like all rumors, this should be taken with a grain of salt. Regardless of when it will be released, "The Last Of Us 2" is definitely coming, and fans should be ready for another emotional journey through this post-apocalyptic world.
