Hello Games, the developer of "No Man's Sky" teased a brand new feature which will reportedly be a leveling up system when it launches in August.

This piece of news was shared by audio director Paul Weir at the Sonar+D conference in Barcelona, according to Express Magazine.

Weir was expected to talk about the game's sound design, but he also hinted at the mechanism while listing various features the fans can expect in the game.

"It's landscape generation," he said. "There are creatures, so it's AI behavior on the creatures.

"There's weather systems, ecosystems, and your job is to explore them [planets], to gather resources, to have adventures, to avoid being attacked by the creatures, to level up - there's a whole leveling up mechanic which we haven't actually shown publicly yet," he continued.

In addition to Weir, game creative director Sean Murray also took time to explain why the game was delayed beyond reason, and why Hello Games skipped the announcement in E3.

"This is a type of game that hasn't been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation," he mentioned..

"And despite all of that, development is genuinely going well," he continued. "This is the hardest working, most talented team I've ever worked with, and I'm so proud of what we're doing. For all our sakes though, we get one shot to make this game and we can't mess it up.

Meanwhile, GamenGuide speculated that the game is huge. However, they have also anticipated that the game will have a finite number of levels and will end after some serious explorations.

Additionally, it has been confirmed that the game will be releasing next month after several delays. The PC and PS4 debut for "No Man's Sky" will be on August 9 in North America and on August 10 in UK and Europe.
