Apple, the most valuable company in the world, has reinvented several industries, including the music, the telecom, and even the tablet, and now it seems ready to go towards a new section.
The next market aimed by Apple, it seems, to be the camera market; at least this what Patently Apple says. According to the source, the American company is currently working on a 3D camera, for which it has filed a patent. The camera could be integrated into the company's phones and tablets as well as in other devices.
The same source explains the way such a technology could improve the facial recognition feature, given that the 3D sensors would be able to differentiate movements of facial muscles.
According to Patently Apple, the Cupertino company has actually filled the patent in Q3 2011, but only a few days ago, it got published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
However, though Apple has patented the idea, this doesn't mean that we'll actually get to see it on the upcoming iPhone 5.
Nonetheless, many experts and analysts say that the new iPhone will have "the thing" that will transform it into a spectacular camera and strongly believe that Apple plans - and will definitely try hard - to gain a significant market share in the camera segment.
What do you say - will we get to see a 3D camera in the upcoming iPhone 5?
