Studio Wildcard has just released an update on its open-world survival game "ARK: Survival Evolved," including the recent patch v243 and the upcoming v244 patch in July.
Posting on the official Survive the Ark page, Studio Wildcard recapped the changes in the recent v243 patch. The Island has gone through a major overhaul with the addition of the Redwood Forest and the extension of the Snow biome.
The newly set areas have new Ruins, which is said to contain collectable story notes about the history of ARK. These notes will be added in the next patch.
The Redwood Forest also has new Wood and Metal Tree platforms, and Survivors can make them their homes if they wish. New tree sap taps are also introduced, allowing Survivors to extract tree saps for healthy potions and other brews.
Retractable Rope Ladders are also introduced, perfect for climbing up the trees and letting allies come up your base while keeping enemies away.
The extremely rare Titanosaur is also introduced in the v243 patch. Probably the largest creature even in a multiplayer action game, tribes can tame the massive beast. Taming it will require a huge amount of effort, but adding a Titanosaur to the player's arsenal can prove to be a huge benefit.
Gas Masks are also introduced, allowing Survivors to avoid poisonous gas and diseases. The ballista turret also had an upgrade in the form of the Chain Bola ammo, which is proven useful for temporarily bringing down larger creatures.
Studio Wildcard also updated the Survivors about its upcoming v244 patch, which will include the new Primitive Plus Official Mod.
Two new creatures will also be introduced in v244, including the Pelagornis and the Allosaurus.
Survivors will also be able to catch fish with the introduction of the fishing mechanic in "ARK: Survival Evolved." Apart from the fishing mechanic, phase 3 breeding and explorer notes (as mentioned above) will also be introduced.
The v244 patch is set to come out on July 28. Check out the full patch notes for the V244 here and the v243 here.
