It is rumored that there might be a much-awaited crossover for the games "Mortal Kombat" and "Killer Instinct." The reports emerged after the concerned officials of the fighting games exchanged some tweets recently and teased the possibility of a crossover.

According to reports, Xbox head Phil Spencer and "Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon hinted on Twitter that the games' crossover might be exclusive to a specific gaming console. "I loves me some Killer Instinct, but a crossover would have to be Xbox exclusive," tweeted Ed, as reported by Cinema Blend. Boon even went ahead and talked with some of the gamers on Twitter about the "Mortal Kombat" and "Killer Instinct" crossover.

Furthermore, Comic Book reported that with the crossover, gamers might be able to witness a possible character swap from the two. It is rumored that many deadly "Mortal Kombat" characters may be traded into "Killer Instinct" in exchange for few villainous characters.

Erron Black, D'Vorah, Kotal Khan and Raiden might be the possible group of characters from "Mortal Kombat" that will be seen in the other fighting game series. Game Spot reported that even Scorpion and Sub-Zero characters are also rumored to be seen in the other gaming franchise after the crossover.

Likewise, there are rumors that Jago and Fulgore from "Killer Instinct" franchise would be one of the many characters that would be traded during the crossover.

Meanwhile, Game N Guide reported that the "Mortal Kombat" and "Killer Instinct" crossover might also bring forth some new combo fighting techniques apart from the manual and traditional combo filters. Besides, a minor tweak to after-crossover gameplay is also possible, as "Mortal Kombat" is more violent in nature as compared to the "Killer Instinct."

Even though the idea of crossover is being considered, there has been no official announcement about the same from Microsoft, Warner Bros., and NetherRealm.
