Although users of GoPro have expected that the latest device would be launched soon, rumors suggested that it will be available on the shelves later this year. Moreover, GoPro Hero 5 might be focused on a niche market.

Crossmap speculated that the upcoming camera will focus on the athletic community. This suggests that there might be some design modifications in the latest camera. It might have a slimmer profile, and having an option for 1080p recording at 30fps.

In addition, since the device will focus on the athletic niche, it would include 4K resolution for both still images and videos. The connectivity will also get a boost and have enhanced connection features.

Moreover, the size of the camera will allow it to be used in any space. The price of the camera is within the range of $450 to $550, and might come out later this year, as revealed by the CEO Nicholas Woodman.

"Later this year, we will introduce the most connected and convenient GoPro we have ever made, Hero 5," said Woodman.

Notably, GoPro has seen a fall in the sales in this quarter due to their product line being not so good. Thus, according to some experts like Joe Wittine of Longbow Research, the latest GoPro Hero 5 lineup could be the bottomline product.

In fact Woodman has also addressed this aspect of the business some time back by mentioning that GoPro provides solutions to users, who need them so badly that they can overlook the inconvenience of manually accessing their content.

"But we are self-aware and we're willing to acknowledge that experience is too difficult for the mass market consumer, today," Woodman further said.

It seems that GoPro Hero 4 will be a product to be reckoned with when it launches.
