The Samsung Galaxy S3 could be launching this Friday, despite Samsung delaying the device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. UK phone retailer Phones 4u hints that a Samsung device is coming March 30.

The Phones 4u branch on Oxford Street, London has the Samsung logo on the front of the store and the date 30/03/2012. That's this Friday.

"[The] last we heard that [the Samsung Galaxy S3] wasn't set to arrive until April or May," T3 reports. At Mobile World Congress last month Samsung said the device had been delayed as it would take time to reach the U.S, having originally be slated for a February 2012 launch.

"Samsung considers the United States to be one of their biggest markets ... announcing a device and launching it a later date would not be feasible," Moneycontrol reasons. An exclusive launch with Phones 4u would ensure consumers, in the UK at least, know about the device.

"There are new Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab devices set to arrive ... but they aren't expected until later this year," T3 says. Big releases aren't atypical for Phones 4u: it stocked an exclusive white Nokia Lumia 800 earlier this month. A similar release for the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be no surprise.

The company also stocked the Samsung Galaxy Nexus exclusively at launch, which debuted with Ice Cream Sandwich.

"Rumours suggest that the third iteration will boast a faster Samsung-made processor, a 12-megapixel camera, more RAM, internal storage and a stunning 7mm thin form-factor" TechRadar suggests. In comparison, the iPhone 4 is 9.6 mm and was claimed to be the 'thinnest phone ever.'

If true, Samsung's third Galaxy S device would be strong competition for the iPhone 4S and even the rumored iPhone 5.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 received positive reviews, being awarded almost perfect scores and being called the best Android phone at the time. As of February 2012, the phone shipped over 20 million units. In Q3 2011, Samsung overtook Apple in smartphone sales with a market share of 23.8 percent compared to Apple's 14.6 percent.

"[T]ech blogger Eldar Muratizin ... says that next generation Galaxy phone has been finalized and entered into production," we reported on Sunday last week. He went on to say pre-orders were at record figures for any Galaxy device.

We also reported that the S3 will have a screen nearing five inches with a 1280x720 resolution and an AMOLED Plus screen, along with a quad-core chip. Clearly, a reveal on Friday will be the only confirmation of the device's specs. Other rumoured specs are 4G from launch and Touchwiz 5.0.
