The US-based technology giant, Google, recently launched the Android N Developer Preview 4 during the Google IO Developer Conference. It is reported that the preview was released for all the application developers to test their applications via the new operating system base. The reports suggest that the Preview 4 of the upcoming operating system is packed with exceptional specs and features for the Android smartphone users.

The Indian Express reported that the new update has revealed many Android N functionalities like multi-window support and picture-in-picture callback options. With the multi-window support, the OS will enable the smartphone devices to display more than one application at the same time i.e. two apps would run side-by-side or above one another in split-screen mode.

The picture-in-picture mode is reported to help the customers to continue their video playback while working with another application at the same time. Further, there are reports that the latest update for the Android N has added emojis in the symbols keyboard with new notification features, methods for supporting Direct Boot function, and new Media Browser APIs claimed The Inquisitr.

With all the news about the specs of the much-awaited Android N OS via developer preview 4, the rumors trending on the internet suggest that the new operating system from Google would be named as Android 7.0 Nutella.

Meanwhile, few reports have claimed that the developers can thrust in more updates to their apps using the API 24 in Google Play. IB Times also revealed that the new API's included in the new Android N preview would be final and the users would be able to utilize them once the operating system is launched.

"As new updates roll out for Android Studio, you should see minor improvements in the new project wizards and AVD manager as we add enhanced support for API 24," stated Google blog Post. "These are primarily cosmetic changes and should not stop you from getting your app ready for an update in the Play store."

In addition to all the reports about the Android N Developer Preview 4, it is stated that the latest update is now available for Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5 X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C, Nexus Player, Android One and Sony Xperia Z3 smartphones.

The Android N is expected to be released in September, just before the launch of the Google Nexus 2016 smartphone.
