The promotional event for "American Horror Story" Season 6 was canceled at the last minute due to the tragic Orlando club attack that happened a few days ago.
"On behalf of everyone at Twentieth Century Fox Television and FX, our hearts break for the victims and survivors of this senseless tragedy. There are simply no words," reads their announcement quoted from Emmys' official website.
"In light of this weekend's events in Orlando, Twentieth Century Fox Television and FX have decided not to proceed with tonight's American Horror Story: Hotel FYC event. They appreciate your interest in their show and apologize for canceling," the site added.
According to Movie News Guide, the event was supposed to reveal the theme of the upcoming season. Enstarz added stars Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock and executive producers Tim Minear and Ryan Murphy were supposed to be at the event.
On the other hand, the profiles and banners of "American Horror Story" social media accounts such as Twitter turned black. As per the online media outlets, the photos has been changed in preparation of announcing this season's theme.
As for the plot, Evan Peters allegedly told Movie Pilot that "American Horror Story" Season 6 will feature either werewolves or the story might take place in space.
"Werewolves? Just kidding. I don't know. I always say space," the actor said. "I know we already did aliens, but I really want to see the world where we're trapped in space and something happens.
He also added that showrunner Ryan Murphy had allegedly tackled the idea of "American Horror Story: Space Station" before. The release date for the horror anthology will soon be revealed.
