At FX's Television Critics Association winter press session, CEO John Landgraf and "American Horror Story" co-creator Ryan Murphy began dropping season 7 spoilers. To start, AHS fans should expect something current, with Murphy hinting that the show will not be going back in time.
"It's a modern-day story," Murphy revealed to reporters. He then confirmed that vets Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are the first two cast members to officially sign on for "American Horror Story" season 7, albeit the lack of information regarding what roles both actors are to take on.
Other specifics about plot and theme were not made available, as Landgraf said Season 7 was going to be "shrouded in super secrecy." What could be drawn as "American Horror Story" season 7 spoilers is the CEO confirming that the TV series will showcase something audiences have not seen before -- and that Murphy is already starting with the writing.
TCA reporters went on to get "American Horror Story" season 7 spoilers from Landgraf, but the CEO was quick to point back at Murphy. According to the Thrillist, TCA reporters are aware that the network chief knows explicitly what the seventh season is about.
Landgraf was then asked if any ideas have emerged from Murphy for season 8 and 9, having now renewed AHS for a total of three additional seasons, TVLine reported. The CEO's reply was a cliffhanger, as expected, noting that the themes for the following seasons after "American Horror Story" season 7 are still unknown for now. However, Murphy previously said that Season 7 would involve several "Freak Show" characters.
So far, no official word yet has been posted about the upcoming show's schedules, or premiere window for that matter. For now, fans will have to take their "American Horror Story" season 7 spoilers and updates from the creators and Murphy himself.
