Apple confirmed on the first day of WWDC in San Francisco that Siri is included in the newest MacOS Sierra. The company announced that Mac is now "smarter and more helpful than ever" with the help of artificial intelligence.
The introduction focuses on the capabilities that that virtual bot can do to the latest operating system. According to Apple Newsroom, this new feature, together with "seamless integration with iCloud" makes MacOS Sierra as their latest achievement in terms of exceeding the customer's expectations.
Apple Senior VP of Software Engineering Craig Federighi claimed that consumers will love the most recent operating system because of its improvement and great new features.
"With macOS Sierra, you can get information, find files and multitask using Siri, access your Desktop and Documents from anywhere, copy and paste between Macs and iOS devices, and rediscover precious memories in Photos," he stated.
Basically, Siri's introduction to the latest MacOS Sierra simply means that the bot's new features can now be experienced by Mac users. These things include: using voice commands "to search for information, find files and send messages."
The good news is, Siri is now on all four Apple software platforms - iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The intelligent virtual bot now handles two billion requests per week across 36 countries.
Meanwhile, other key features for the MacOS Sierra are:
- Being able to save documents in owned Mac devices with the use of iCloud.
- Universal clipboards. The technology that can easily copy and paste text, images, photos and video between your Mac and your iPhone and iPad.
- Tabs feature/Picture in Picture on can now widely be used which allow users to multitask searches and do other things without losing the information.
- Apple Pay on Mac allows users to shop securely with the power of strong encryption.
- Memories. Just like with the new iOS 10, Memories feature is also included on the MacOS Sierra that scans photos and videos and identifies the occasion behind it.
