With all the rumors about the iPhone 7 to be launched during the upcoming Apple's WWDC 2016 event, few reports have emerged suggesting that the US-based technology giant will also unveil its latest App Store 2.0. The reports state that Apple will implement a new 70-30 subscription model for all it app developers.
Neo Win reported that the new subscription model in App Store 2.0 might affect the app users as they would have to pay more for purchasing updates on their favorite applications. But, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, shared a different view on the same concern.
According to Phil, the new subscription features would be very customer-friendly with an opt-out option for the app users. The reports suggest that a customer can choose not to continue with the services of any application if the developers raise the subscription price. "We're trying to protect the customer from surprises in pricing," said Schiller, as reported by The Verge. "The App Store 2.0 will also have a revamped interface to make it even easier for the users to manage their subscriptions."
Further, Phil also said that Apple will launch the new App Store 2.0 keeping in mind the benefits for both the customers as well as the developers. He said that the company is trying to look out for every possible solution, which would provide a better experience for the users in the App Store.
Besides, Tech Times reported that with the help of new App Store 2.0, all the users will be able to utilize the 3D touch feature in a better way. The reports also suggest that the Categories tab will be making a return to the new app store from Apple.
Meanwhile, Phone Arena reported that if the new subscription model of App Store 2.0 is accepted worldwide, then it would shift the dynamics for Apple. It is also rumored that the company is expecting huge iPhone 7 sales this year after its probable release in the fourth quarter. Hence, many reports have claimed that the Apple's move to enhance the app subscriptions via App Store 2.0 will ring in more profits for the company eventually.
