The new iPad scored a "record weekend" debut for Apple, mainly because of its stunning features such as 4G LTE and Retina Display, but those features also lead to disastrous results, including working as "speed trap."

The iPad can offer high-speed 4G LTE connectivity, which is amazing for streaming video. However, the data caps implemented by carriers were found to be so restrictive that some user can consume their monthly allotment in only several hours, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

The issue was characterized as a "speed trap." There is one user who only streamed just two hours of March Madness college basketball and found that his entire 2GB monthly data allotment has been run out.

The 4G iPad is supported by two large wireless carriers - AT&T and Verizon - in the U.S. No matter which one you choose, you will get your monthly data allotment with limitation. Irrespective of what you pay (the plans range from $20 to $50), there's a 5GB cap. And, if you have exceeded your monthly limit, you'll have to pay an extra $10 for every gigabyte.

Hence, even though Apple fans are crazy about the super-fast 4G network, the data limits are posing as huge obstacles to them, as the users can't enjoy the fast network freely.

Currently, only Sprint is offering the unlimited data packages, but Sprint's network doesn't support the LTE connectivity in the new iPad.

Meanwhile, the data limit isn't the only complaint from the users. Some users are also claiming that the new iPad runs hotter than its predecessor, especially when they play graphics-intensive mobile games or applications. Furthermore, some are complaining that the WiFi connectivity of the new iPad is worse than the iPad 2. Guess, Apple can't please them all.
