The latest "Dungeons & Dragons" title, "Neverwinter", is coming to the Playstation 4 in summer.

The popular free-to-play massively multiplayer online (MMO) RPG game was initially launched three years ago on PC, and an Xbox One version was released in March 2015. Now PS4 console owners will be able to experience the world of the Forgotten Realms once the game is made available for them.

The game, developed by Cryptic Studios (Star Trek Online, Champions Online) and published by Perfect World Entertainment (Forsaken World, Jade Dynasty), will include all nine expansions and all of the content from the previous platform releases, as well as eight classes to choose from. The game features a lot of enemies and characters from the "Dungeons & Dragons" franchise, as well as well-known locations such as Icewind Dale and Underdark.

The good news is that PS4 players do not need to be a Playstation Plus subscriber to be able to play. "Neverwinter on PlayStation 4 will be free-to-play for all PlayStation 4 owners as you will not require PlayStation Plus to dive into this full-fledged MMORPG experience." Perfect World's communications manager Alex Monney said on the Playstation Blog. Eurogamer reports, however, that there would still be in-game microtransactions, but it would be completely optional.

The publisher has not set a specific release date for "Neverwinter"'s PS4 as of the moment.

In other "Neverwinter" news, PC players will also get a content update this year, with the release of its tenth expansion, "Storm King's Thunder", in August. The new update will release Frost Giants upon the land, and it's up to the player to stop the giants from invading. The player will also get some assistance from some familiar faces from the D&D universe, Catti-brie and Wulfgar. The DLC will also introduce three new adventure zones to cater the high-level players, as well as a new Dungeon tier. The expansion will also be released on the Xbox One and the PS4 at a later date.
