“People argue about ‘are we in a post PC-world?’. Why are we arguing? Of course we are in a post-PC world,” said former top Microsoft Executive, Ray Ozzie. According to Ozzie, the world has move along, especially in the last couple of years, leaving behind the personal computers.

Now, in the era of speed and technology, almost each person has access to Internet and is handling most of job and school projects with the use of a laptop. Moreover, with this invasion of tablets and smartphones on the market, it comes as no surprise that fewer people have the time log in to their personal computer.

Sales confirm what Apple CEO Tim Cook and Ozzie are talking about – the worldwide sales of smartphones have already overtaken those of PCs, while tablets (even though released in the market only about two years back) are catching up fast. In today’s era, people need more movement freedom and incorporate as many devices in one as possible. So, if it is a movie that you want to see, both smartphones with generous screens, as well as high-resolution screen tablets offer this pleasure. In addition, both games and applications can run smoothly via these tech devices, as the processors of smartphones and tablets are becoming more and more competitive.

However, Microsoft’s future does not seem so gray, as the launch of the new Windows 8 is approaching. Already laptop developers like Asus, Dell or HP have showed their interest in running the latest version of Windows on their devices, as well as smartphone developers. And while the future of PCs might have reached a sunset, for sure the future of Windows is still sunny.
