Activision Blizzard, developer of Call of Duty has expanded its reach to the public as publisher brings eSports to Facebook Live very soon.
Engadget reported that Blizzard Media Networks Division Co-Founder and SVP Mike Sepso revealed that they are now working to put Call of Duty on different social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube to reach out the young generations who are active in using the aforementioned.
"We have already seen tremendous growth in audience reach. Especially Facebook's own focus on live video," he said. "We are continuing to work with Twitch and Instagram , and we will be producing a lot of daily content on Facebook live."
"I think it will happen quicker than people think, it's not just that gaming is pervasive. As we start to tell this story behind players, people will connect with these stories," The VP concluded.
As for the timeline, the team is planning to set up a two-day Facebook Live tournament for Call of Duty: Black Ops on June 10, which includes on details how the players were able to perform in certain games and events during play.
Aside from Call of Duty, other Activision Blizzard games such as Starcraft and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are going to have an eSport variation as well.
On the other hand, IB Times believed that this strategy may bring success to the company. They forecasted that eSport will become more popular and more than a billion people could have learned about it before the year ends.
