Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is rolling out an OTA update this Tuesday to disseminate the newest version of its user interface. Xiaomi MIUI version 7.1 will be replacing the current version, the MIUI 7.0, and will be arriving to a number of the Chinese manufacturer's devices. The latest update comes after MIUI 7 was released. So far it isn't clear which Android build the latest MIUI is based on.

The Xiaomi devices that will have the latest user interface update are the Xiaomi Note, Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Mi 4 and Xiaomi Mi 4i. Included also are those in the Redmi series like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G and Xiaomi Redmi 1S. Xiaomi Mi Pad will also be receiving the latest MIUI 7.1 user interface update. It has been announced that a ROM with the version 7.1.2 has been made available already for the devices Xiaomi Mi 2 and Xiaomi Mi 2S.

Users who own any of the mentioned devices, except for the Xiaomi Mi 2 and/or Xiaomi Mi 2S versions, are advised to make sure they are connected to a Wi-Fi network before downloading the update. Users are also advised to power up their devices to at least 50 percent before downloading and installing the update to avoid any complications and errors when they receive it.

The MIUI 7 will be distributed in waves as it is being sent OTA. So while some might hit or receive update notifications today, some might not until a few days later. The arrival of the update will not be the same for everyone, but it will arrive to all the users whose device is on the list.
