Xiaomi is once again feeding the rumor mill, this time with the much anticipated upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mi 5. But despite all the speculations and predictions, the Chinese mobile manufacturer has managed to keep their handset surrounded in mystery. That is until this Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The Mi 5 model is getting some of its specs unveiled, giving away some of its mystery, identity and finally shedding light to what the public can expect from the latest handset device about to be released in the late 2015 or early 2016. The released specs of the said upcoming handset were listed on the Oppomart's website, a reputable site that has good credibility.

The Chinese mobile manufacturer's upcoming flagship phone is listed to have a 5.5 inch display with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440and a 554 ppi pixel density. It has a 4GB RAM and comes in three different memory options which are 16GB, 64GB, and 128 GB.

By the looks of it, the Mi 5 model will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, an Adreno 530 GPU and will be powered by a 3,800 mAh battery. It will be run the OEM's own MIUI 7 which is based on the Android 5.1 OS. The handheld device boasts a 20MP main shooter and an 8MP selfie camera. It comes in two color variants which are classic black and white.

Another leak by China UnionPay also indicated that the smartphone will also feature NFC and also have support for the new Cloud Lightening Pay platform. Although it is yet to be final and might be changed in the future, the handset is said to be priced at $599 USD which could be costly but is well worth the price due to its specs.
