Smartphones nowadays are almost a necessity. Manufacturers work to outlast what other companies released before them, creating models after models of what they seem to think as the ultimate hand-held device that consumers would need and like. As such, necessity grows, and apps and features are added each time. But the power capacity remains the same. Though many have worked on a solution for this given problem, up until now the only solution that tech companies have come up with always deal with chargers that will enable users to charge or get battery juice once they run out of it.

But those times are behind us now. It seems like companies have recognized the need for having a battery that can hold more power than the standard used in smartphones today. Just recently, we heard of Sony's plan to make sulfur batteries, which last longer than the standard lithium ion batteries. But this time we learn of a new mobile phone released by a Chinese gadget maker that just hit the market, which claims to have a battery that solves this short-power dilemma.

The latest smartphone called Oukitel K10000 claims that its battery is made to last from 10 to 15 days without charging. It has a 10,000 mAh battery that holds about four times more power than that of a Samsung Galaxy S6 or about five and a half times more power than an iPhone 6 can hold. The unit, according to its maker, Oukitel, only needs about three and a half hours to be fully charged.

According to the Chinese tech company, although smartphone software today has become better on managing apps and programs to conserve battery life, the problem of dealing with the battery itself is still relatively new and wasn't done before. Outkitel, on the other hand, is not only dealing with conserving a battery life through apps or programs but also dealing with upgrading the battery capacity as well.

Outkitel claims that K10000 model is currently the world's largest battery capacity smartphone. Its super smart standby mode and an intelligent power consumption management feature solve the battery-life-shortage dilemma. The device can also function as a power bank and can charge three units of iPhone 6s or fully charge a single iPhone 6s three times and still have 10% battery life left for itself. With its battery capacity, it is said to last up to 15 days of normal use.

Outkitel K10000 comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display and a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop on a 1 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735 processor. It comes with a 2GB RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, which is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card. K10000 is a dual-SIM-capable phone that sports a 2 megapixel front camera and 8 megapixel rear camera.

The smartphone comes with smart gestures and Xender for file transfer features. It also supports 3G, Wi-Fi, microUSB, GPRS/EDGE GPS/A-GPS and Bluetooth in terms of connectivity. It will sell for $239.99 USD, and shipping will start next year by Jan. 2. Certain discounts await those users who preorder early.
