A week ago, Chinese social networking site Sina Weibo leaked pricing information for the iPad 3, claiming it will come with a $80 increase over the launch price of the iPad 2. A new report, however, now goes directly against Sina Weibo’s rumors, bringing new data into the equation.

9to5Mac reportedly received new information regarding the iPad 3 pricing. According to the Apple watcher, the next generation tablet will fall into the same price range as the iPad 2 for their respective configurations. 9to5Mac expects the iPad 3 to come in the same three capabilities: 16, 32 and 64GB versions in WiFi-only and 3G+WiFi. The pricing for the rumored LTE iPad 3 is not mentioned.

For these configurations, the starting price will reportedly be $499 for the 16GB model, the same as the iPad 2’s 16GB model, and not the $579 price Sina Weibo claimed. The price climbs to $599 for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64GB tablet. When it comes to AT&T or Verizon’s data services, there will be another surcharge for the capability, driving the price to $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB and $829 for a 64MB model.

AT&T currently offers iPad 2 data plans with 250MB of data at $14.99 per month, 3GB for $30 and 5Gb for $50. Overage charges on the gigabyte plans are $10 for each additional gigabyte. On the other hand, Verizon currently offers up to three data plans: 2GB for a $30 monthly fee, 5GB for $50 and 10GB for $80. As with AT&T, all Verizon data overage cost $10 per gigabyte.
