A new smartphone is coming to town and it might or might not be the next big thing considering the latest trend of today's society. Unlocked smartphone maker Yezz has just unveiled their Sfera smartphone to the public. It is expected to be launched in January during the annual CES conference with a pair of 5MP specialized cameras that promises to capture spherical images.

Sfera is a 5.5 inch LTE equipped smartphone that can create 360 degree images and/or videos by putting together the images and videos that are captured by the special lenses of its cameras. Being 360 degree means that the user will be able to vertically and horizontally browse the captured image or video. They can also zoom in and freeze the images without any blind spots or distortions.

The device will be using a software to stitch this 360 degree picture/video that some reports say might work a bit like Google's Photo Sphere app. The smartphone also offers a "Cardboard Viewer Option" where users will be able to use a Google Cardboard viewer to incorporate a virtual reality experience while perusing their 360 degree images and videos. The device is also compatible with any most action-camera accessories.

Sfera's first generation has a 5.5 inch full HD display and Gorilla Glass screen with a 1080 pixel resolution. The handset will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow on a 2.2 GHz octa core MediaTek Helio X10 processor. It will be having a 32 GB internal storage and a 3GB RAM.

The latest Yezz device will also sport 5 megapixel specialized front and rear cameras and offers a 4K H.264/H.265 video decoding at 30 fps and 4K H.265 video encoding at 30 fps. As of now there is additional information and no pricing has also been mentioned to the public.

The launch of this latest device from Yezz is sure to stir things up as currently, there is a growing interest on action cameras and virtual reality alike. People nowadays have been talking about the latest GoPro or is currently fascinated with the improving and continually expanding VR providers like Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear VR.

With that said, one might say that although Yezz is gambling a bit with this device, it could be seen as something that will be a major break whether it succeeds or not in gaining enough consumers.
