Xiaomi is said to be unveiling their latest and long awaited Mi5 or Redmi Note 2 Pro this Nov. 24 where the company is holding their Grand Finale event in China. The latest model, which was earlier called Redmi Note 2 Pro is officially unveiled as Redmi Note 3 instead. There are promotional images shown in a teaser that the company has posted at their official Weibo account.
The latest model features a design that is considerably prettier that the brightly coloured plastic shells that were featured on the company's original Mi Pad model. There have been a couple of teasers and hints coming from Xiaomi's CEO Lin Bin, making the talks more certain that the launching will be a sure thing at the event.
The company's Redmi Note 3 is said to be featuring a fingerprint scanner or sensor at the back and will have a 5.5-inch full HD display supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will weigh about 165.97 g and will have a measurement of 49.98 x 75.96 x 8.75 mm.
It comes at two different memory variants. One has a 2GB ram and an internal storage capacity of 16GB while the other has a 3GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 32 GB. The internal memory is expandable with a microSD. It will also support dual sim.
The handset will also be powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795 chipset with a PowerVR G6200 GPU. It is rumoured to be running a MIUI 7 based Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is also rumoured to support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS in terms of connectivity.
It will also be featuring a 5MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. The latest model will also r have a large 4,000 mAh battery. It is also seen on a teaser image that the smartphone will be coming in three different colors which are Gold, Silver, and Grey.
There is also buzz about having a Redmi Note 3 Prime version which would be running faster as it would be powered by a 2.2 GHz Helio X 10 SoC and have 32GB of internal memory. The 2GB version is expected to be priced at ¥999 CNY or $155 USD.
There are no confirmations though, but surely details will be released at the Grand Finale launch which would feature the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, MiPad2, and their possibly their first smartwatch. On the other hand, Xiaomi's Mi4 smartphone which was released last year may soon be released in the United States as it has just been recently certified by the country's FCC.
