Apple CEO, Tim Cook, unveiled its newest member of the iPad family, the iPad Pro, during the special press event in San Francisco today. The circulating rumors prior to the presentation were right on the money; Apple made a bigger iPad. Along with its newest toy, Apple also included a couple of nifty gadgets that go with the iPad Pro: the smart keyboard and the iPad Pencil.

Other features that were mentioned in various tech predictions before the event were also present during the unveiling. The new iPad Pro uses the new split screen app on the new iOS 9 and has a 5K retina display similar to its iMac products. It also uses the new A9X processor, which Apple claims is almost twice as fast as the previous chip.
Apple also claims that their newest toy has doubled the the graphics performance and is faster than 90% of all the portable PCs that were shipped the last 12 months. To top it off, Apple also says that the iPad Pro will last 10 hours on battery with the ability to edit three streams of 4K videos simultaneously. It's also equipped with a program, included in the iOS 9, that balances the sound depending on how you're holding the device with its four-speaker audio system.
Meanwhile, Microsoft released their own tablet, the Surface Pro 3, ahead of the competition. The new tablet will be available for purchase in October and will be distributed with the help of their PC rivals, Dell and HP, on their respective online stores.
