Google is still on the frontlines in terms of creating smartcars, however it seems as if Apple is planning on making their way through this industry by partnering with BMW.

According to Value Walk, Apple is exploring the possibility of teaming up with BMW to create their own smartcar. Apple and BMW's new smartcar project was dubbed the "Project Titan" the companies are already putting their manpower in this venture.

Based on speculations, the most ideal design would be BMW's i3. Then, they might tweak a couple of features to make the car user-friendly. They will also incorporate Apple features like Siri and other security measures now seen on Apple devices.

The rumors have been strengthened by the fact that Apple CEO Tim Cook visited the BMW HQ earlier this year to check out the luxury car manufacturer's facilities.

A tipster from Tesla said that former Ford executive Steve Zadesky visited Austria to find a tech company to work with, possibly on another smartcar project. Though there are no confirmations yet, the tipster said Zadesky wanted to work with Apple on this project.

The same source also said that the companies' smartcar project is expected to change the automobile competition in the market. It is also a good thing that Apple has a great number of engineers who has worked with Tesla before. It would then be easier for them to integrate the ideas, aesthetic and values of these two companies.

More people are also testifying on "Project Titan." According to Business Insider, people from Silicon Valley are already excited with Apple's smartcar project. Fiat Chrysler's CEO also mentioned that Cook is very interested in integrating the Apple tech in automobiles.

The late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, had wanted to create an Apple car before. Perhaps this project could pave the way for the completion of his original plans.
