The new Facebook photo uploader is now available on iOS and is currently in the testing phase for its Android counterpart. Tech Crunch reports that apart from the new standard filters, Facebook has added stickers and now allow users to place an overlaid text on their uploaded photo. The decision to add stickers spares users from having to download another app when posting their pictures on Facebook.

A Phone Arena article reported that Facebook's iOS photo uploader will show a vertical line on the image and give you a choice of different filters that you can change by swiping. This option allows the user to quickly compare the different available filters instead of the preview option seen on other photo imaging apps like Instagram. Pressing the magic wand at the bottom will also bring up the option to tag a friend or crop the image.

The text function works similarly with Snapshot. The option to add a text to your photo will be shown once you press the magic wand at the bottom left of the screen. Once you type in the text and choose a color, you can pinch and drag to resize or move it. It's noticeably different from the Snapchat app because the photo is blurred while you're editing your text and you can't quite see the final product.

Many believe that Facebook included these new features in its photo uploader as a way to compete with Snapchat. Snapchat allegedly refused to accept a $3 million business proposal from Facebook back in 2013 and it looks like the social media site has found an opportunity to integrate Snapchat's features to its system. Or, it could be that Facebook is just looking to compete seeing as how Snapchat is reportedly worth $10 billion US.
