Dropbox users looking for more cloud storage can now get 100GB of free OneDrive storage from Microsoft when they install OneDrive.
Microsoft is apparently making more efforts to boost the popularity of its OneDrive cloud storage service by offering neat incentives to attract more customers.
Just last week, the company launched a special promotion offering 100GB of OneDrive cloud storage space completely free of charge for two years, for users who signed up for Bing Rewards. While that offer was initially exclusive to the U.S., it has since expanded its availability and is now open to interested customers worldwide. To take advantage of that promo, users must create a Microsoft Account if they don't have one already. After that, simply signing up for Bing Rewards will get them 100GB of OneDrive free for two years.
Microsoft is now back with a similar promotion, offering Dropbox users 100GB of free OneDrive cloud storage space. The company calls it "a gift to current Dropbox users for installing OneDrive." Unlike the Bing Rewards promo, however, this one offers that 100GB of free OneDrive space for one year.
In order to take advantage of this offer, interested customers who already have a Dropbox account can navigate to the promotional page at this link and create a Microsoft OneDrive account from there. Once that's done, all one needs to do is verify their Dropbox account by logging in and saving a document to the service.
It remains unclear at this point whether the Bing Rewards and the Dropbox offers can be redeemed at the same time to get the combined amount of free OneDrive cloud storage space, but customers may have to choose one or the other.
If you already took advantage of one of these two offers and tried redeeming the other one as well, drop by our comment section below and tell us how it all worked out.
Microsoft doesn't note whether this new promotional offer is a limited-time affair and, if so, when it will expire. Nevertheless, Dropbox users can now get 100GB of free OneDrive cloud storage space for one year.
Lastly, it's worh pointing out that OneDrive users will have to pay if they want to keep using the service once their promotional one year or two years of free service expires.
