The rumored Moto G 4G (2015) model has made its official debut, as the smartphone is now available for purchase in Brazil.
A 4G LTE variant of the second-generation Moto G has been rumored for quite some time, and the version has now hit the market although Motorola has not issued a formal announcement just yet.
Back in 2013, Motorola released its original Moto G, which soon became a smashing hit. The company released a Moto G 4G version in 2014, making the smartphone even more popular. Later in 2014, Motorola launched its new Moto G (second generation), and a 4G model was expected to follow a while later.
Fast forward to present date, and the new Moto G 4G (2015) has now gone on sale on the company's Brazilian page, and is expected to hit more markets soon. The budget-friendly smartphone brings the same almost-pure Android experience, but does sport a few notable changes compared to the regular version.
First of all, the new model comes with a larger 2,390 mAh battery, but seems to be available in a single configuration, with 16GB of internal storage capacity. At least for Brazil, an 8GB Moto G 4G (2015) does not appear to be in the cards. The new Moto G 4G (2015) still retains the dual-SIM support, but likely only one of those SIM card slots will be able to enjoy LTE speeds.
Other than the slightly larger battery and the addition of 4G LTE support, the latest Moto G version will sport no changes compared to its non-4G counterpart. This means that the handset comes with the same 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2-megapixel front shooter.
On the software side, however, the new version will boast Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box, while the regular Moto G (second generation) is yet to get a taste of the latest Android version.
The Moto G 4G (2015) is now available from Motorola Brazil for BRL 899, which would translate to roughly $349. Motorola has yet to announce just when this model will hit other markets as well, but should offer more information shortly.
