AT&T will be offering the smartphone for $149.99 with a two-year contract, $22.92 per month with AT&T Next 18, $27.50 with AT&T Next 12, or $549.99 contract-free.
The carrier is also launching the new HTC RE, a portable and waterproof camera that is designed to sync with a smartphone. The RE Camera will cost $199.99, but AT&T is slashing $50 off that price for customers who purchase the HTC Desire EYE as well.
"Optimized for taking selfies, HTC Desire EYE is AT&T's first smartphone with a 13MP front-facing camera and a dual LED flash," AT&T Senior Vice President of Device Marketing and Developer Services, Jeff Bradley, said in a press release on Monday, Nov. 3. "Both HTC Desire EYE and RE have many great features that allow you to capture your moments - all on the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network, covering more than 300 million Americans."
As a reminder, the HTC Desire EYE sports a 5.2-inch full HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, dual 13-megapixel cameras on both its front and back, 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 128GB, and a 2,400 mAh battery to keep things up and running. In addition to the 13-megapixel cameras, the smartphone also comes with the new HTC EYE Experience, which brings neat features and functionality to improve the photography experience.
The HTC RE camera, meanwhile, is marketed as a GoPro competitor, although many claim that it doesn't really rise up to that level. Nevertheless, the camera is quite impressive, allowing users to shoot 16-megapixel still photos and 1080p video. The HTC RE camera is also IPX7-certified, allowing users to capture photos and videos underwater for up to 30 minutes, without putting the device in a protective case.
"RE, a point and shoot camera, comes with a 16MP camera sensor with a 146 degree wide-angle lens, and effortlessly integrates with your smartphone and user settings to automatically back up your photos and videos to the cloud," AT&T further adds in its press release. "An 820mAh rechargeable battery supports 1 hour and 40 minutes of continuous 1080p High Definition recording capability."
As previously mentioned, the HTC Desire EYE and RE camera will officially hit AT&T on Nov. 7, when they will become available both online and in AT&T retail locations. For more information, head over to the product page on the carrier's website at this link, or check out the video below.
