The freshly-launched Motorola Verizon Droid Turbo may launch globally as the Moto Maxx as soon as next week, according to a new report.

Motorola and Verizon Wireless have officially unveiled their new Droid Turbo smartphone powerhouse on Tuesday, Oct. 28, revealing that the handset is set to hit commercial availability two days later, i.e. on Thursday, Oct. 30.

The Droid Turbo is one beast of a device and has caught the attention of smartphone fans worldwide, but for now the handset is exclusive to Verizon Wireless. Big Red has the exclusive rights to sell Droid devices in the U.S., but will the smartphone make its way to other parts of the world?

According to a new report, the Droid Turbo may in fact launch in other markets as well, as Motorola is apparently set to reveal a global version of the smartphone early next month in Brazil.

More specifically, Brazilian publication Technoblog reveals in a report (translated) that it has received an invitation to a Motorola event set to take place next week, on Nov. 5. Motorola did not specify just what exactly it will be announcing at said event, but the invitation (see image above) clearly shows the back of a Droid Turbo smartphone, albeit with only one of the handset's LED flashes visible. The image is the same one the company uses on its U.S. product page for the Droid Turbo, when touting the smartphone's "unique materials, enduring protection."

Technoblog further claims that the global variant of the Droid Turbo will launch as the Moto Maxx, which would not be very surprising considering that Motorola received a trademark for this name earlier this year.

The Moto Maxx, or whatever the global Droid Turbo will be called, is expected to pack mainly the same specifications as the Verizon model, and come with identical features.

As a reminder, the new Verizon Droid Turbo boasts a 5.2-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7Ghz, 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage capacity, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and a massive 3,900 mAh battery, among the highlights. The smartphone promises to offer 48 hours of battery on a single charge, supports Motorola's Turbo Charging technology, and comes with popular Moto X features including Moto Voice, Display, Assist, and Actions.

It remains unconfirmed at this point whether Motorola indeed plans to release a global version on the Droid Turbo, but it should all become clear on Nov. 5. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
