OPPO has officially unveiled its latest flagship, the OPPO N3, as well as an ultra-thin smartphone called the OPPO R5.
The company had been teasing its N3 powerhouse for quite some time now, and the smartphone is finally official, boasting neat specs and features all around. The OPPO R5 is definitely worth a look as well, arriving as one of the thinnest handsets out there.
OPPO N3
As the company had already teased on several occasions, the OPPO N3 sports a rotating camera that serves as both a front and a rear shooter. More specifically, it is a 16-megapixel camera with a 1/2.3-inch sensor, and it also has a special feature for panorama shots. Instead of requiring the user to move the camera for a panoramic shot, the OPPO N3's camera has a rotating lens that can be set to move itself slowly and capture those panoramas.
Aside from the shooter, which is the main point of attraction, the OPPO N3 further sports a 5.5-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution, offering a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the smartphone packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage capacity, and a microSD card slot for additional memory. Other specs include a 3,000 mAh battery to keep things up and running, and a fingerprint reader for extra security. OPPO R5
At just 4.8-mm thick, the new OPPO R5 is definitely one of the thinnest smartphones around. The handset sports a 5.2-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution, and packs a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
In addition to its ultra-thin profile, the R5 also features an elegant metallic frame and angular corners, even for its camera module.
Lastly, the OPPO R3 also comes with a special cooling system based on a "phase-shifting" material, which is designed to absorb heat so the smartphone keeps its cool.
"Our phase-shifting material is made of metal, resin and other composite materials," OPPO explains. "When heat is generated, the material begins to change. This material not only absorbs any heat; it also radically improves thermal efficiency."
Both the OPPO N3 and R5 also come with VOOC charging, which allows users to juice up the battery very fast. Camera features both handsets share include HD picture, GIF pictures, tracking focus, and others. To learn more about the OPPO R5, head over to the product page at this link.
