The recently-announced Samsung Galaxy Alpha smartphone is ready to see new horizons and expand its availability, launching soon in the UK and Canada.
Samsung has made no announcement regarding the smartphone's launch in the U.S., but if it makes it to Canada it shouldn't be too long before it becomes available stateside as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is not the full-metal smartphone everyone was hoping to see from the company, but it nevertheless improves the design by spicing up the polycarbonate casing with a stylish metal frame.
In fact, that's what makes the Samsung Galaxy Alpha stand out from the crowd: its design. In addition to the metal frame that makes it look sturdier and more stylish, the phone also comes with beveled edges and a soft plastic back, prompting some to say it's the best-looking smartphone Samsung has made so far.
Interested buyers in the UK and Canada are in for some good news, as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is set to hit these markets soon. The smartphone has been up for pre-order in the UK for a while already for £549.00 and will start shipping on Friday, Sept. 12. The handset will go on sale in stores on the same day, hitting retailers such as Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U, as well as carriers O2 and EE. The Galaxy Alpha comes in a 32GB flavor and will be available in multiple colors, with white, black, and silver as the most common ones.
In Canada, meanwhile, Bell and Virgin Mobile will be the first carriers to offer the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, but other operators will join the party "over the following months." Both Bell and Virgin will offer the smartphone in white, black, and gold color options. The handset is already up for pre-order on Bell, sporting a $149 price tag with a two-year contract, or $649 outright.
It remains unclear when or if the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will make its debut in the U.S. as well, but its release in Canada signals good news in this regards. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more details become available, so stay tuned.
