The multi-billion dollar purchase of Motorola Mobility by Google came as a surprise to many, some who even thought Google made a wrong move, which may be evident now since Motorola lost its patent dispute with Microsoft, which ultimately led to all Android-based Motorola smartphones being banned in the United States.
