The official power flip case for the HTC One Max will not only offer protection, but also bring an additional 1,200 mAh flexible battery.
HTC has just taken the wraps off its new phablet, the HTC One Max, which is essentially a blown up HTC One with a larger battery and a microSD card slot for extra storage. The massive 5.9-inch display of the device requires more power and HTC packed a large 3,300 mAh battery under the hood, but more battery is always welcome.
According to the company, the HTC One Max' hefty battery should be able to last for roughly 25-28 hours of talk time and at least 393 hours of standby time. Nonetheless, one of the biggest complaints about today's smartphone powerhouses is that they don't last for too long on a single charge.
If yesteryear's mobile phones could last for days on end on a single charge, the large, feature-packed smartphones generally don't make it to the second day without requiring extra juice. Consumers who use their smartphones for multimedia and intense gaming are even more affected by this battery drainage, so various battery packs and cases have emerged to provide some extra power.
The new HTC One Max power flip case comes with a 1,200 mAh flexible battery, meaning that it's flexible to a certain extent. Moreover, the case also serves as protection, as well as a stand, allowing users to prop up the super-sized smartphone for watching videos, video chat or more.
The power flip case connects to the HTC One Max using the three pogo pins found on the smartphone's back, allowing for an easy and hassle-free attachment. With the 3,300 mAh battery the phablet packs and the additional 1,200 mAh battery offered by the power flip case, HTC One Max owners should be able to get the most out of their device.
HTC has yet to offer details on pricing or a specific launch date for the power flip case, but it will likely release the accessory around the same time the HTC One Max hits the market.
