The HTC One already has a pre-release Android 4.3 version available as a custom ROM, while the full-build experience is expected in the coming weeks.

The latest HTC flagship smartphone, the HTC One, is one of the hottest Android handsets currently available on the market. With the new Android 4.3 out, however, owners of the smartphone want to upgrade their high-end devices to the very latest version of Android.

Famous developer LlabTooFeR has posted the custom Android 4.3 ROM on XDA Developers. The build is the Maximus HD 12.0.0 ROM and is based on firmware version 3.09.401.1. Moreover, Android Central claims that the developer will release the "untouched firmware" on Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. GMT.

The software leak is definitely good news for owners of the HTC One, but it doesn't come as much of a surprise. HTC has already confirmed recently that the U.S. and Canadian versions of its flagship model will skip the Android 4.2 build and jump directly to the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean by the end of next month.

The Android 4.3 Maximus HD 12.0.0 custom ROM comes with the new base 3.009.401.1, added support for Bluetooth 4.0 LE, added OpenGL ES 3.0 support, added Google Wi-Fi scanning feature, Google Games, the ability to remotely wipe the device, the ability to use HTC TV in countries where TV programs are not available. Updates, meanwhile, cover the kernel, the AppDrawer, System Fonts, OEM apps and a number of other useful changes.

Those who cannot wait for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software to become officially available in the next few weeks can now try out the Maximus HD 12.0.0 custom ROM, courtesy of LlabTooFeR. Keep in mind, however, that HTC One owners who decide to go for a custom ROM do so at their own risk.

With just a few more weeks to go until the real deal is out, however, more cautious HTC One owners may want to hold off on installing custom ROMs and just wait for HTC to officially push out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to their handsets.
