Mophie was typically associated with the iPhone, because its popular battery cases were previously available only for Apple devices, but that is no longer the case.

The company has some external battery packs and battery cases available and, until a few months ago, Apple device owners were the only ones who could enjoy them. Mophie then released a battery case for the Samsung Galaxy S3, and now it has one available for the new HTC One flagship as well.

The new HTC One battery case from mophie is a standard juice pack, i.e. a case with a built-in battery. This battery case has a $99.95 price tag and will be available in two colors: black and silver. The silver model, however, is not shipping yet, so those who can't wait any longer will have to settle for the classic black. Potential buyers can place an order for the silver case as well, but mophie notes that the case won't ship until mid-May. The black version of the case, meanwhile, will be ready to ship out in one or two business days.

"Customers using HTC's newest flagship smartphone with a mophie juice pack can rock, talk, surf, and send for twice as long with the simple flip of a switch, receiving the benefits of double the battery life on one charge," touts the press release published by Engadget. "The ultra-thin and lightweight design of the juice pack also complements the smartphone's zero-gap unibody design, delivering full protection and power in a sleek profile. The juice pack for HTC One fortifies mophie's offerings for the Android community, joining solutions for the Samsung Galaxy S III and a universal line of external rechargeable battery packs that help keep users powered up wherever they go."

"This new juice pack will provide an enhanced user experience to HTC One owners and introduce them to the benefits of having double the battery power available to them on-demand," adds Ross Howe, vice president of marketing.

Besides providing an additional 2,500 mAh battery for the HTC One, the mophie juice pack also sports an LED indicator and a pass-through USB for extra convenience. In other words, HTC One owners will be able to sync and charge their handset without having to remove the case. The mophie battery case is also designed to allow HTC One owners to use the features of the handset with the case on, which means the speaker, microphone, camera and other features are still accessible.

On the other hand, the juice pack will add a little bulk to the smartphone, as any case does. The HTC One juice pack measures 2.88 x 6.06 x 0.67 inches and weighs in at 5.05 ounces. The HTC One itself measures 2.68 x 5.4 x 0.36 inches and weighs 5.04 ounces. Basically, HTC One owners who want the mophie juice pack will have to trade some of that slim design for extra battery life.
