The 8.9-inch, 32GB 4G LTE Kindle Fire HD tablet is coming to AT&T this week, on April 5, sporting an appealing price tag with a two-year contract.

For a limited time, customers who purchase the $399 Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE with a two-year data plan contract at AT&T retail stores will get up to $150 off, which means the overall cost of the tablet would amount to $249.

"Being the first carrier to connect Amazon's Kindle Fire HD to our 4G LTE network provides the best mobile internet experience," AT&T's senior vice president of emerging devices Chris Penrose touts in the press release. "Combining our 4G LTE experience with Kindle Fire HD's rich features at an incredible price point yields a great value and experience for our customers."

Interested customers can grab the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablet on a Mobile Share plan starting at $10 per month, or one of AT&T's individual or family plans listed here. AT&T also offers three 4G Tablet DataConnect plans with 250MB for $14.99 per month, 3GB for $30 and 5GB for $50, respectively. The tablet's dual-band Wireless N connectivity, meanwhile, might sound great to many.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE from Amazon sports an 8.9-inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. Under the hood, the tablet packs a Texas Instruments OMAP4470 45-nm SoC with two ARM Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1.5GHz and a PowerVR SGX544 GPU core clocked at 299MHz. The slate also features 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, Dolby audio and a front-facing HD camera. As expected, it runs a customized version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

"We're excited to work with AT&T to offer the 4G LTE version of Kindle Fire HD 8.9" to AT&T customers across the country," adds Amazon Kindle Vice President Mike McKenna. "Customers tell us they love our large-screen Kindle Fire HD for browsing the web, writing emails, watching movies, reading magazines, and more - and with AT&T's 4G LTE technology, everything is faster and more convenient."

Amazon typically sells the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 4G LTE tablet with 32GB of storage for $399 with "special offers," while the regular price (without "special offers") goes up to $414. The 64GB model, meanwhile, costs $499 with "special offers" and $514 without.
