As the release date of HTC's new smartphone nears, HTC reminded the tech folks once again about its flagship 'One' smartphone with a teaser on its Twitter and Facebook pages. In an image that boldly claims the release date as Feb. 19, 2013, the post includes what appears to be a silver edge of a smartphone emerging from the bottom of the image.

HTC M7, believed to arrive as HTC One, has been one of the most heavily rumored smartphones of the year and the device is expected to replace HTC One X, which has so far been considered to be HTC's flagship smartphone.

HTC has placed a countdown clock on the homepage of its Web site, which is currently set at six days, ticking down to synchronous events in New York and London. "Each time the final second hits "one," it's highlighted in green, and cryptic imagery that could reveal parts of the phone briefly appears behind it," The Verge notes.

The specs, software and features have been partially revealed by several leaks online. A brand new image of the device was spotted recently during a UEFA Champions League game featuring Scottish club Celtic and Italian giants Juventus held in Scotland where the HTC One was confirmed as a product name via an electronic billboard just behind the goal. The device had made an onstage appearance in CEO Peter Chou's hands during a company party recently.

According to another report, a new press shot of the device leaked online showed a clear view of Sense 5's more subdued UI. "The bright clock and weather widget that has been on all HTC smartphones has a simpler black and white clock and weather widget," the report said. According to other rumors, the smartphone will come with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and SLCD 3 1080p display.
