In November last year rumors indicated that Google is set to launch a white variant of the Nexus 4 before Christmas, but the white version never made to shelves. Now rumors of the white Nexus 4 have revived with a leaked image doing the rounds on the Internet.
Previously, Carphone Warehouse, a UK smartphone retailer advertised the Nexus 4 in white and black options; however, the image of the white Nexus 4 was not available and the white option was removed from the Web site. Also a leaked screenshot image of Carphone Warehouse's inventory system showed the Nexus 4 in white color. Both of these could have been a simple error which the company has made, or a hint that the Nexus 4 will soon make its way in white as well.
Now latest rumors, supported by a picture of the Nexus 4 donning the white avatar, suggest that potential Nexus 4 buyers will now have more choice.
"According to the EXIF data on the image, the picture was taken with an LG Optimus G last week. This may mean the image is coming from someone within LG, or it may not mean anything. It certainly looks like a white Nexus 4, and you can even see the reflective pattern on the bottom right that was a distinctive feature of the black Nexus 4," reported Phone Arena.
Furthermore, Phone Arena added "We ran the image through FotoForensics, and it doesn't seem to be photoshopped, so it could be the real thing. Of course, this would only confirm the existence of the white Nexus 4. We still would have no idea when the device is planned for release."
Google has not confirmed any plans of releasing a white variant of the Nexus 4. However, the previous rumors and latest leak may make us believe that a white variant is in the pipeline. We will have to wait and see if the rumors of a white Nexus 4 bear fruition.
